Primus FX280 Marine Softmount Washer-Extractor

The Primus FX280 Marine Softmount Washer-Extractor combines high-capacity professional washing with a robust softmount design. With a nominal 28 kg capacity, 280-litre stainless steel drum and high-speed extraction, it provides an efficient laundry solution for demanding onboard applications.

Its softmount construction helps reduce the transfer of vibration to the installation surface. Therefore, the FX280 offers greater installation flexibility than conventional hardmount machines.

Primus builds the machine with a stainless steel top, drum and tub. An anthracite front and side panel completes its durable professional construction.

28 kg Professional Washing Capacity

The FX280 provides a nominal capacity of 28 kg at a 1:10 loading ratio. At a 1:9 ratio, capacity increases to 31 kg.

Its 280-litre drum measures 750 mm in diameter. In addition, the large door opening makes loading and unloading easier during frequent daily laundry operations.

These characteristics make the FX280 suitable for vessels that require substantial onboard washing capacity without moving into much larger industrial laundry systems.

High-Speed Water Extraction

The FX280 reaches an extraction speed of 975 rpm and a G-factor of 400. This high-speed extraction removes more moisture from textiles before they enter the drying stage.

As a result, the subsequent drying process can require less time and energy. This can improve overall laundry productivity while helping reduce operating costs.

Cascade Drum Technology

The Primus Cascade Drum uses a patented surface design to improve mechanical action during washing.

Its cascading drum shape combines additional perforations with specially designed surface contours. Consequently, the machine can extract water efficiently while maintaining effective textile movement.

The technology also helps prevent linen from sticking to the drum after high-speed extraction. This makes unloading easier for operators.

Optional XControl FLEX PLUS

Primus offers the XControl FLEX PLUS system for the FX280. The system features a multilingual 7-inch touchscreen with an intuitive interface and built-in operating instructions.

Operators can customize wash cycles according to specific laundry requirements. Furthermore, the control system supports clear step-by-step operation for easier everyday use.

Control content is available in 34 languages according to the FX280 specification sheet.

Smart Laundry Management

The FX range supports connected laundry management through a cloud-based platform. This allows operators and laundry managers to access machine information remotely.

Primus also offers an optional weighing system for the FX280. The technology can adapt water and detergent consumption according to the actual wash load.

Therefore, operators can optimize resource consumption when processing partial loads. This helps control operating costs while reducing unnecessary use of water and detergent.

Flexible Heating and Installation Options

The FX280 supports both electric and steam heating configurations.

Electric heating options include 21 kW and 9 kW, while the steam version operates with a specified steam pressure range of 100–800 kPa.

Primus also offers several additional options. These include a stainless steel cabinet, liquid soap connections and pumps, a water recovery kit and a third water inlet.
