The Primus FX240 Marine Softmount Washer-Extractor combines a 24 kg nominal washing capacity with robust construction, high-speed extraction and flexible professional laundry controls. Its softmount design makes it a practical solution for demanding onboard laundry installations where capacity, reliability and efficient operation are important.

Primus equips the FX240 with a stainless steel top, drum and tub, together with anthracite front and side panels. Its heavy-duty construction supports frequent professional use, while front access to vital components simplifies routine servicing and maintenance.

24 kg Professional Washing Capacity

The FX240 provides a nominal capacity of 24 kg at a 1:10 loading ratio and up to 27 kg at 1:9.

Its stainless steel inner drum provides a volume of 240 litres and a diameter of 750 mm. Meanwhile, the large door opening supports easier loading and unloading during continuous laundry operations.

This combination provides substantial washing capacity while maintaining a relatively compact footprint for professional onboard laundry rooms.

450 G High-Speed Extraction

The FX240 reaches an extraction speed of 1035 rpm with a G-factor of 450. This high-speed extraction removes a significant amount of residual moisture from textiles before drying.

As a result, laundry can enter the tumble dryer with less retained water. This can help shorten the subsequent drying process and improve the overall efficiency of the onboard laundry workflow.

Cascade Drum Technology

The patented Primus Cascade Drum improves mechanical action through the cascading shape of its surface.

Additional perforations across the drum support efficient water extraction. At the same time, the specially designed surface promotes effective textile movement during washing.

The Cascade design also helps prevent linen from sticking to the drum following high-speed extraction. Therefore, operators can unload processed laundry more easily.

Flexible Laundry Control

The FX240 can be configured with XControl FLEX PLUS, a fully programmable control platform with a multilingual 7-inch touchscreen.

The interface includes operating instructions directly within the control and allows operators to customize wash cycles according to specific laundry requirements. The FX240 specification lists control content in 34 languages.

Alternative XControl and XTronic configurations are also available, allowing the machine setup to match different operational requirements.

Smart Consumption Management

An optional weighing system can further improve laundry efficiency. By measuring the actual wash load, the system can adapt water and detergent consumption to the amount of laundry being processed.

This helps reduce unnecessary consumption when operating with partial loads. In addition, connected laundry management provides access to machine information through a cloud-based platform.

Flexible Heating and Installation Options

The FX240 is available with 12–18 kW electric heating, while a steam-heated configuration is also offered. The specification lists a steam operating range of 1–8 bar.

Additional options include a stainless steel cabinet, liquid soap connection and pumps, water recovery kit, third water inlet, weighing system and double door glass execution.
