Victor Marine Ltd are pleased to announce that they have recently received and fulfilled a significant order from one of India’s largest engineering and construction conglomerates to supply a series of lightweight Oily Water Separators for installation on fast attack interceptor vessels. These lightweight units, which are Bureau Veritas Type Approved, have now been added to Victor Marine’s full range of products and are available to any interested parties.
Due to the weight constraints applied to this project, Victor Marine faced the challenge of designing and building a lightweight version of their already very successful CS Series range of separators. Having to meet a rapidly approaching delivery date for this customer, the work undertaken had to be carried out in a very short timeframe.
Tasked with producing a separator weighing no more than 215 Kgs (dry weight) Victor Marine have produced a fully functional aluminium separator weighing only 169 Kgs (dry weight) which is an incredible 30% reduction in the finished weight of a standard CS Series unit. It should be noted that this reduction in weight also surpassed the customer’s original indicated requirement.
This unit is now in full production at our UK site and all involved in the project are delighted with the process and completed product. To date, these units have been ordered and supplied to various shipyards and owners around the globe and to the UK and European yacht building sector.
